Tax Advisory Professionals - Review/Revenue Specialist

  • At least two (2) ongoing and possible fixed term (up to 12 months) positions are being offered in the Technical Advice and Review Branch, Policy, Advisory and Legal Services Division
  • Salary $113,022 - $136,747 plus 11.5% superannuation – VPS Grade 5
  • Based in Melbourne CBD, with hybrid working opportunities

The opportunity  
This tax advisory role deals with complex state tax objections and ruling requests from external stakeholders.

 Reporting to the Team Leader, the Review/Revenue Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Effectively managing a file portfolio of complex objections and/or private rulings across all revenue lines
  • Mentoring and guiding staff in preparing  objection determinations and private ruling decisions and across all revenue lines
  • Participating in the development and implementation of revenue reforms 

 

Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in meeting quality and output performance targets in a complex legal and commercial environment
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of complex legislation and legal research experience.
  • High level communication skills (interpersonal, verbal and written) to initiate and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
